Mix yeast, hot water, and 1 tbsp of sugar in mixing bowl. Let stand for at least 5 minutes to increase volume.
In a separate mixing bowl, place flour and make a hole in the center. Add eggs, salt, anise, butter, remaining sugar, the yeast mixture, and orange blossom water (optional). With a fork, slowly stir until everything is blended.
Place mixture on floured surface and knead dough until smooth. Add small amounts of flour to reduce stickiness and reach desired texture. Add Craisins® Dried Cranberries. Place dough into greased bowl, cover with cloth, and let stand in warm place for 3 hours to rise.
Preheat oven to 450°F.
Separate the dough fourths. Form small ball, 2long strips, and a larger ball. Make “bone” shapes with long strips. Place the larger ball in the center of a baking dish. Add the smaller ball in the center of the larger ball, and lastly, place the bones evenly around the smaller ball.
Scramble egg. Brush egg wash over dough and bake for 10 minutes then lower the temperature to 350°F and continue baking 30 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle sugar and serve at room temperature.
